Welcome Baby Jake

We were very excited for the big day to arrive. It had been crazy up until the minute the lil man arrived. There was a stomach bug going around the kids school and it was brought home to the Burkhart house. Hunter was sick with the bug and poor Ryan had the bug up to the day Jake was born. We got to he hospital at 6am and by 8am they were ready to wheel me back. It is so amazing that we entered the room a little after 8am and by 8:19 we were blessed to have welcomed Jake. He weighed in at 8pounds and 10ounces and was 20 1/2 long. We had a big surprise waiting for us when we left labor and delivery. Grandpa Gordon had flew in to be with us on this special day. I ended up staying at the hospital for four nights. I was so lucky to have great family and friends taking care of me! Melanie came up everyday and freshened up the room and was the perfect nurse. Each night I had different visitors stay the night from mimi and grandpa gordy to lisa and kathy. I think I am one of the only people that hate going home from the hospital. We were lucky to have amazing nurses everyday and the awesome corner room.

Baby Luncheon/Shower for Jake

Friends kept asking if I wanted a shower and I kept saying No. Well I have some really awesome girlfriends that do not take NO for an answer. Amy Garza believed every baby is a blessing and I deserved something. Amy, Diana and I had planned on going to Brio for brunch to celebrate Amy's up-coming birthday. When I walked in I noticed some of my closet girlfriends. It was just what the doctor had ordered and it was so special. It was such a sweet gesture and I am so lucky to have such great friends! The girls were so sweet and several of them showered me with pampering gifts for myself, everything from mani/pedi to baby messages.

 My friends at school also did not take No for an answer. Maria, Jennifer and Shannon threw me a diaper shower at CTMS. I have such an awesome staff, I could barely shut the back of my car. It was a mustache theme and we had a blast!
