First Rangers Game

When Madison was a baby we went to Rangers games all the time and she loved them. Before she had turned one she had seen about half a dozen games. Things change when you have two. Ryan was given some really good seats and we thought, let's take both kids it will be fun. Hummm...did we forget about our plane ride less than two weeks ago? Same scenario different location. Hunter was not impressed that you could actually see the sweat on Josh Hamiltons face or that our seats were awesome. Luckily Nick had joined us for the game and Ryan, Nick and Madie were able to see some what of the game. You can probably guess where Hunter and I spent most of the night. Yes, eating a funnel cake and at the gift shop. The Rangers WON and after they put on an amazing fire works show we were able to watch from the parking lot.

Kids Say.....

This was a screaming re-enactment, without the saying. :-)

We all know we probably don't watch the best things on TV or slip every so often. Well this happened this weekend and I had to share. When we were in Cape Cod they have green head flies and the are between a fly and a bee. They are mean and hurt really bad, so Madie became very scared of them. Saturday night we had gone to dinner and Central Market and got home and Ryan was out dealing with the farm. Madie is out side with Ryan and starts screaming and runs in the back door. She is waving her hands every where and yells.. "F**kin Bee Mom" I about died and rolled over laughing, because yes I do slip but never the F word. She kept saying it over and over like no big deal. Why do we laugh at this? What is going to happen when she is older?

Sunday, July 24th. If you shop at Costco you will appreciate this story. They have these 52' bears right at the entrance for every little kid to see and scream about during the entire time they are there, my daughter has even been the one asking for it the entire shopping trip. We have even laughed because several of our friends have suckered into buying this beast. This has been on display since the beginning of the summer. For the first time ever Madison did not ask for the bear, we even stop right in front of it. Then all of a sudden.... BAM out of the middle of know where Hunter yell's " OH WOW" and points at the bear. He says stuff like momma, dadda, goo goo gaa gaa, Nana. NOT OH WOW?!?! Right then Ryan was a sucker and gave in and now the game room has another edition.
This to can be yours for $29.99 at your local Costco

Cape Cod 2011

Some would call it a vacation some would call it work....We attempted and survived our first plane ride with our family of four. WOW, I swear you need a vacation after you plan and pack everything and then unload and wash everything. The trip started off crazy because Ryan was up working until 3 am and our flight was at 8. The plane ride to Boston was not bad since I had a cranky hubby and a cranky lil guy getting over a ear infection. Madie was able to sit in a vacant seat next to Ryan's mom and watch a movie and I actually got to read a magazine. When we got to Boston we rented a really nice F150 and it was super cozy, nice and fit all of our stuff.
We arrived in Cape Cod and it was a dream come true, 75 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Ryan's grandparents purchased a home in "The Cape" in the early 80's and they have been traveling their every summer since. This was the first time that GiGi (great grandmother Fox) had met Hunter. Her house was great for two reasons:
A. Our room had a tv, king size bed and a room attached with two twin beds and a pack and play. Makes life so easy when you have one less thing to travel with. Also, the room was loaded with old school toys for the kids to play with.
B. The view from her porch/house over looks the Atlantic and it is breath taking, relaxing and cool weather.
While we were on the Cape we had fabulous home cooked fresh meals, we even had fresh lobster one night. YUM
* Note to self...Do not introduce expensive things like lobster bisque, lobster, scallops, crab meat to a 3 year old. She now wants to order this expensive food and chicken nuggets do not cut it.
We also played lots at the local park at the baseball fields were we took in a few Orleans Cardinals games. If you have seen the movie Summer Catch you can imagine just what it is like there. We also spent several hours in Chatham, our favorite town on the Cape. They have GREAT shopping in Chatham and this is where the fishing boats all come in, perfect place for Ryan and I both. They have a place called Chatham pier and you can sit and watch all of the boats come in from a day of fishing and un-load their catch. The kids love to watch the harbor seals sit and swim waiting for the fisherman to throw them some leftovers. The downtown area of Chatham is like a movie scene, great restaurants and cute quant stores.
Madison's favorite part of the trip was her nightly trip to the Sundae School, which is a local hangout that serves fresh ice cream.
We packed up the stroller a few days and headed to the beach as well, the cool thing about Orleans is there is a bayside beach and an Atlantic side beach. The Atlantic side is Nauset Beach and the bay is Skaket Beach. Madison loved Skaket because during low tide that had little ponds and the sand was nice and wet for building sand castles and it was nice because the stroller was easy to push.
The week flew by and then it was time to head home. We left very early and spent the day in Boston. Madison got to see the beloved Fenway and we got to spend some time in the Quincy Market.
The plane ride home....... WOW, I am surprised we are still alive. The airlines informed us of NO strollers past security. What? Really? Then me being nice and sweet argued. Well we all know when you travel with me you come home with tons of junk. Junk I had piled in and on the stroller, oh well by the time things were said and done we barely made the flight. The ride home, we were "those" people with the annoying kid that would NOT stop crying. The flight attendant was bringing me milk even before take off. Now I see why people drive with small children, because as parents we can easily ignore the annoying crying and whining in a car.
P.S. forgot to mention we took the kids to Plymouth rock. What a JOKE. Seriously I have rocks in my yard bigger than this, I was bummed.

Go Boston Red Sox, Madison at Fenway Park

Not sure of what we have just given him

Madison managed to eat an entire 2 lb lobster tail

Love this!

My Favorite people in the world. Eating a summertime treat at the Sundae School.

Building a sand castle at Skaket Beach.

Seriously, could he not be any cuter?

Just chillin at Nauset Beach

We took the kids down to Nauset Beach to watch the sunset and they had on their new black dog shirts,

Ryan's favorite place in the world, LAND HO!

Playing and building sand castles

I thought this was like a post card, we were able to see how a real lighthouse worked when the fog rolls in.

Standing at the top of Chatham pier attempting a family photo.

Love these kids..... Dressed up and having fun at a Cardinals game.

Watching the seals and boats come in at Chatham pier.

Hanging out and goofing off on the porch.

For those that know Ryan, this was a little bit of heaven. His grandmother found him his favorite Coors Original.

By the look on Madie's face she is not impressed either with Plymouth Rock.

The start of our trip at Plymouth, amazing our amazing country started here over  300 years ago.
This was a great adventure and I hope we can continue to travel, I really think so many memories are made when you are on vacation.

And we are off......

Look at those fat legs....I just want to eat them
Every parent wants their kids to walk and do it early, after they start walking we wonder why did we wish this?
I was like everyone else, helped Hunter to walk and kept working with him. My mom even spent $6o on the "Stride Right" walking shoes and he did it in flip flops, go figure.
We were on vacation at Ryan's grandmothers in Cape Cod and he would do a step or two here or a step or two there, then up on the balcony he walked all the way across for his juice cup. He is now walking around the house and trying to keep up with his big sister. The best part, every time he walks Madison yell's " MOM LOOK HE IS WALKING". Madie was such a good big sister and is so sweet when she is trying to help him.

Then and Now....

We visit Cape Cod in the summer and our favorite past time is visiting the local cape cod baseball league. We took Madison to her first game when she was 11 months. We took Hunter to his first game at 13 months. I have posted two of my favorites pics!

What a day! We had a TON of fun at his cowboy theme roundup. Lots of friends and family came over to celebrate the lighting of his first candle. The weather was warm and the kids had a blast. We rented a bounce house and it was a true hit, except for the roaming of the chickens and ducks.
