Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving this year was great! We enjoyed a wonderful meal, weather and people. Grandpa Burkhart joined us at Mimi's with Nana, Trisha, Austin, Melanie and our family. Austin tried to drive Madison's car, we played jenga, ATE lots of good food and relaxed. After all of the relaxing I dressed up and went black Friday shopping at 11am till 6am. It was AMAZING and I love my shopping buddies. I tried to get pics of the kids in the cute matching outfits I made them.

Halloween

This Halloween was super fun! We had a runaway chicken and a nice witch. Madison was very excited and counted down the days till she could dress up. Hunter loved dressing up and blending in with his friends in the back yard. There was tons of fun activities going on around town. They had a Halloween spectacular by the lake and Madison was on my shoulders and the grim reaper on stilts walked up to her. She repeated and repeated to beat him with her broom till it broke. Good Times! Halloween night we went trick or treating with Nash, Hudson, Hunter, Lila, Sophia and Evan.
The "mean" witch because she has black hair, Madison says mean witches have black hair and nice ones have white hair.

Carving Pumpkins

Madison got the concept of carving pumpkins and loved all the gooey yucky gunk inside! We were crafty this year and made personalized pumpkins and carved pumpkins. We carved a "jackel-lantern" and a witch. We are wearing our Texas rangers shirt during the process to support the rangers during the world series.
Glowing in the night
Madie's pumpkin even matched her costume
The best I could do to get Hunter to sit still ;-)

Texas State Fair

On Friday, October 21st I took the day off and Madison and I ventured out to the State Fair of Texas. The weather was great and Ryan was able to meet us for lunch and to ride a few rides. Madison was not a fan of the corn dogs, she took off all of the breading. She loved the petting zoo and re-created farm for kids. She wanted to go into a haunted house ride and it was pretty scary, by the end she was crying and ready to get off! One our way out we used the rest of our tickets for a fried snickers and three bags of cotton candy.

Saturday Night...Saturday Night

Weekends in the fall are always fun on Flameleaf. We end up playing in the driveway and watching sports. This weekend there was LOTS of good football on, which meant lots of time in the garage. Hunter had fun chasing Lila while Madison played with Nash and Hudson.

Gymnastics

Every Tuesday afternoon Madison takes gymnastics with Miss Gypsy and Miss Johanna. She has such a fun time and loves to be the class clown. She has done so well, she does the balance beam, rings and forward roll. We almost have the cartwheel mastered, Ta Da!

Glory Days

The night of the rival Grapevine-Colleyville football game Alison and Eric threw a bash! We all had to come in our nostalgic GHS/ CHHS gear. Ali was a hot band nerd, Hot Rod ( Rodney) had his state ring, letter jacket and helmet. Holly was in town and it was SO much fun to catch up with everyone! The red cups, beer pong and a little rain made the night complete. I love we all still get together and hang out after all these years!

Mom and Madie in the corn maze
Saturday October, 1st 2011 we journied off to the Hall's Pumpkin Patch with the Houchards. Everyone had a great time and it was a good time to remember Maura's dad. Last year Rory joined us at the pumpkin patch and as always was so much fun! In honor of Rory we all piled onto the tractor as a family and tried our best at a family photo. Dan and Kate tried out the corn maze with Madison and Olivia, 45 minutes later we were over it. We bought pumpkins for the yard and had a great time picking them out.
